David King’s motivation has always been to get a job done the right way, meet the highest professional standards and treat people with respect. Those are expectations he meets every day as founder and owner of First In Restoration.
King established First In Restoration in 2024 to provide fast, professional restoration services for water, fire and mold. His company works with residential homeowners, business owners and multi-family dwelling managers who are in distressed situations. He diagnoses the problem, determines the best solution, and walks alongside the client through the process to attain the fastest, most cost-efficient outcome.
He was motivated to start First In Restoration when an elderly family friend was taken advantage of by a larger restoration company and left with big bills and an incomplete job.
“I believe in treating people like I’d want someone to treat my own family,” King said. “That’s why we honor the Golden Rule – treat others like you’d want to be treated. That’s the attitude of our entire First In Restoration team.”
Before starting First In Restoration, King operated Honeydew Homes for several years, which specialized in repairs, renovations and interior design. During this time, he completed dozens of home projects that required use and knowledge of a wide range of tools and equipment.
Born and raised in the Detroit area, King served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps as an ordnanceman with HMLA-773, a Huey and Cobra attack helicopter squadron.
He and his wife, Kate live in the metropolitan Atlanta area with their dogs, Lucy and Doug. They are members of Lawrenceville First Baptist Church, where David serves on the audio visual team. In his personal time, he enjoys making furniture in his woodshop and drawing.
First In Restoration is certified for water, mold, odor and fire restoration by the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). The company is a member of the Restoration Industry Association and the Atlanta Apartment Association. King is active in the Hamilton Mill BNI chapter and a member of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce’s Chairman’s Club.
